Another slow day on Blue Marsh. Along with outboard issues (going to the repair shop tonight) and also fishing line wrapped in the prop it was the makings of an awful day. Traveling 3+ miles with a 55 lb thrust electric motor back to the ramp was not a lot of fun (better than rowing I suppose). I decided to make a quick stop on the way back to the ramp in one of the many small coves on the lake just to try to relax for a few minutes and low and behold; 10 minutes later I caught and released three LM; the first one was about 10"; the second one was 16" and the third was a 5 lb, 1 oz 21" beauty. What a fight on a ML spinning combo with 6 lb test. So what really was a terrible day turned into a few moments of sheer excitement. Oh well; the outboard is under warranty and I have a 5 lb-er to my Blue Marsh resume'. Why these Bass were sitting in about a foot of water in the bright sunlight is beyond me; but that's fishing and I'll take it, HAHA!
