What started out as a very slow day picked up and turned into a very good day. I went the first 2 hours without a single bite; I ended up catching one in the first 2-1/2 hours total. Then the switch turned on and I caught 11 more (plus a large pickerel) in the next hour after that. Most Bass were in the 12" to 14" range but the largest was around 17". So all-in-all I would consider it a great day. I must have hit a wolf pack searching for food; at one point I caught (4) 13"-14" Bass in 4 casts; talk about a great time. I had one hit (probably a pickerel) that started peeling line off my reel and about a minute later it was gone; there was a nice clean cut on the end of the line (not the Knot) so I imagine the line was cut by a toothy critter. I did catch a 22" pickerel a few minutes later in the same spot (no bait stuck in his lip though).

Glad to hear things picked up. I ended the day with ~15, we were smashing them in the stump field. All little, but tons of fun. Between the two boaters and I, we wound up with over 40 fish.

I heard you catching em' in the stump field Harry; sounded like you were having a great time. I caught my first one near the stump field but they just weren't cooperating with me down there. I really thought my day was going to be a total bust; but as Mr. Iaconelli has always said; "never give up", HAHA!I went right back to my confidence bait and stuck with it. Once that bite ended I switched to a drop shot and caught my last few fish.
It sounds liked your Dad was REALLY tearing up! I haven't fished "his" spot regularly; but I'll have to give it a shot sometime (as long as he isn't on the lake).
