I caught this trout yesterday and noticed its tail was raw and bleeding. Does anyone know if they spawn around here? I let the fish go.

I don't know of any brookies that are successful in steam reproduction in Chester County. That doesn't mean they won't try.
They did stock brook trout in both branches of the Brandywine as well as French creek this year. with the improved water conditions, who knows?

you should take a pic of fish on ground, keep it wet, protect it. all those brookies in the brandywine won't make it long, water is too warm for a brookie

Brookies and browns spawn in the fall, rainbows spawn in the early spring/late winter at least in nature. Many of our hatchery trout are so imbred that you will often find eggs in all 3 now. IDK what stream you were on but more than likely the raw tail is concrete rash from the hatchery raceway(especially if the stream was stocked recently)
