Fly fished with a white streamer in the high water at hay creek and caught a nice brownie and rainbow within 20 mins. The fresh stockers are ready to eat!

Nice, Hay is a great creek, I love fishing up stream in the boulders. Nice holdover trout and wilds.
You fish hay a lot?

Really enjoyed my day yesterday. I don't go often because I am primarily a bass fisherman, but I might have to try there again. Unfortunately there is no sp regs on hay, and it is one of the most pressured creeks in SE PA. They stocked it on Wednesday, and nobody realty has fished it because of the rain.

I believe most of the pressure is along the closed part of 82,where there are a bunch of Jack dams. If you go up stream about half a mile it does not get much pressure and you feel like your upstate.

Opinions on making a petition to get the upper section of hay creek, by the parking place at old 82, a c&r/dhalo regs? It's stays cool enough to support wild trout throughout the summer so I don't see why not. As mentioned, it is a nice creek. I also want to try to open the lower section of sixpenny to fishing...

I will sign to improve this beautiful stream C&R might be too much, DHALO is good.

Perfect! I was hoping to make the dhalo regs go from the end of the public up there, down to the metal bridge by the quarr, also near the buildings in the clearing. I'm not sure how far down it stays cool enough to suppost trout, but at just under a mile, that stretch should be good. Any suggestions on start/stop points?

personally, I prefer upstream from the end of the road there up to Rock Hollow road. I think the area with the jack dams gets warm in July and August. There is a small population of stream breeding trout in the section up stream of the end of the road.
How do you petition the state to make it project water?

Isn't all of that water posted? If it is on somebody else's land, it would be a whole new challenge trying to get public access to that part of the stream for the people who would want to fish it. I contacted a few game commission people and some others on the matter, and I hope to hear back by tomorrow. If it is on public land, it should be easy. Most of the fishing on the opener is in rustic and the dam downstream of the old road, so it shouldn't affect license sale or anything like that.

There is a house about a quarter mile up from the parking lot that has some of the land posted and another half a mile up. But one side or the other is accessible.
If the creek in just the public land including the "Canyon" were to be DHAO I would be very happy.

I'll see what I can do. It may fall through if nobody likes the idea, but as far as I know, it shouldn't cost the game commission anything, it just receives the regular stocking with no harvest until June.
