Sunday during the mini blizzard. Slow bite with mostly pale sunfish and 1 crappie. Auger crapped out on me which really limited my fishing. Might be my last trip for the year will have to see how struble makes out with this warmer weather

Fished this morning before the rain moved in, bite was steady, when the rain moved in the bite really picked up. The ice was getting wet with water pouring into any open holes. I left just before the monsoon rain came down. Now we need cold nights for a refreeze.

Panfishin - what was it like getting on and off the ice? need hip boots or a quick scoot out to the solid ice? Hoping to head out tomorrow afternoon and all weekend. Might as well take advantage of the ice while we have it!!

Fished today from 6 AM - 2 PM. Caught Crappie the entire time but nothing fast and furious. I think this was my last outing, the ice was getting really soft and alot of ponding. I never dreamt I would of got out as much as I did this year so everyday was enjoyable. Who knows, maybe one more Artic blast of air! (wishful thinking)

Out both days of the weekend and had good days. To boot my grandson Luke(5 1/2 yrs. old)came out with me Sat. afternoon for his first time ice fishing. We did pretty good and he had a ball. So, when he woke up Sun. he asked if we could go again so to Struble we went. Had a half decent day, just enough to keep him occupied. Hope he doesn't get too used to the warmer temps when ice fishing though. I explained to him this was most likely the last time I would ice fish this year because it's supposed to get warmer. I caught him covering our holes with slush and asked him why he was doing this. He said that he would hide the holes until next winter for ice fishing! Think I have an ice fishing buddy for life now.
