I'm looking forward to getting out soon. Not Saturday though. High of 17 with 20-30 mph wind. I'll definitely go out after work next week.

I tried to get on the ice this morning ( Wednesday). I struggled to pull my sled from the parking lot to the lake because of the snow and getting on the lake was worse, 3 inches of slushy slop. It was like dragging a deer up hill, 10 steps on and I decided it wasn't going to happen. All that mess will freeze up this weekend, then I'm back out. A word of caution: someone has randomly cut what looks like 10 inch holes out there, I seen them Tuesday and are probably slushed over by now.

i saw a bunch of 10inch holes that first Saturday we were able to get out. .... i will definitely have the shanty out this weekend!
Has the parking availability opened up at struble .. havnt been there since Saturday the 30th .. got there about 815 and it was packed tight. hoping the snow melted enough to leave more space.
hope this cold front produces some good ice on the coves at marsh!

The parking lot is better than it was that day. I ventured out today, fished for about 3 hours until the blowing snow drove me off. The slush on top has hardened enought to walk without breaking thru, I'm sure it will be harder by the weekend. The wind will be an issue!

Fished from 2 till dark. Had steady action with a lot of throw backs. Ended up leaving with 10 nice crappies. Thinking about maybe taking a ride up to Scott's run tomorrow morning to hide from the wind. Hate to give up a day on the ice since its been a short season.

It was a cold one out there today, but there were plenty of people out there without huts. Good bite until about 11:30 then a slow but steady pick after that. Caught more crappies today then I ever have at struble before along with some chunky gills. Ill be back out tomorow taking advantage while I can

Out Sat. am in the wind tunnel type conditions without a hut! Caught a few crappies and bluegils but left around 10am. Wind would not let up. Out again Sun afternoon and as the porvious post, caught more crappies than I ever did at Struble. It was nice to have a day like that! I may try to get out this week after work but with the rain coming and the warmer temps, afraid that it will be too sloppy.
