There is no way Struble is iced over completely, even with skim ice. I drive past the West Chester Reservoir daily and is a much smaller body of water. It was wide open this morning.

I think it could be quite a while before we see hard water in this area,,at least anything you can fish on,,,i hope I'm wrong,,,,sitting around the house is getting old,,,,gonna have to do something,,,,sitting around here waiting for ice might be a big loser this year

I'm with ya panfish.. Next Sunday I will most likely be heading north if there is fish able ice....I have some buddies out in western pa..they were out on white oak and put a hurting on the panfish.. They had anywhere between 3 and 4 inches... I'm not driving that far lol

I just got back home from a ride to Struble and did in fact see that it was frozen over about 95%. Never would have thunk. I'm sure that it's skim to maybe an inch but this is a start. A couple of places where the birds were and the immediate area around the dock was the only open water I saw. Not believing my eyes, on the way home I checked the pond to the right at the bottom of the nasty hill and it was totally frozen. Keep fingers crossed.

Chambers Lake is wide open water today. Some local ponds have ice.

Next week might get a little colder. Sunday is supposed to be mid 60's with heavy rain, the ice on Struble Lake will most likely melt. We need a Polar Vortex!! I went MC the other day and there was skim ice at the bridge, that's a start.

I think scotts run locks up pretty quick also as it is a cold water lake and it just always seems to be colder up there.. I'm hunting Saturday but hoping to get out on the ice Sunday..

We're getting close. Drove by a couple of smaller lakes/ bigger ponds towards the end of last week that were capped with a bit over an inch. If any ice in the area survives today the rain on top should freeze up over night. May be able to find a smaller body of water with enough ice to get out on this weekend but thats a big maybe. Heard guys have been fishing Mauch Chunk for the past week, might be within reason for a trip this weekend

Mauch chunk is somewhere i was considering for this coming weekend. Temp look decent for the week. I highly doubt A launch would have safe ice but i think by the weekend B launch should be fishable. But who knows i will just have to do some research and make a game time decision.
