I usually fish Marsh Creek but may try here....I walk the shore typically for LM. Any hints on areas to hit and specifics for gear would be appreciated. Thanks!!

So when you are using a 3wt, what size line are you using? I'm guessing that with a 3wt line, it really limits how large a fly you can use.
Would it work to use a 5wt line on the 3wt rod, so you could throw larger flies?
Thoughts?

You can overline a fly rod but usually just one one step heavier. I know it helps with larger fly rods in the wind. Like an 8 weight. Not sure about a 3.

My 3wt is rigged with 3wt weight forward. I believe in smaller flies, so I don't think I even own anything above a #6 or so. Just my preferences. I'm actually getting ready to head out to the lake right now, but with the way the wind's howling, I think I'll just go with my spinning outfit for today.

I'd agree with yellowlab by not overlining by more than one weight. Seems like the physics are just different with fly rods. Not so much with spinning rods where you can do some upweighting but certainly within limits. The only time I upline my fly rod is wind or certain weighted streamers but again not by much. Was out today for couple hours and got a couple nice perch on a firetiger curly tail. Water was still stained a bit. Since this was only my second trip to chambers don't know if water is much clearer usually. Still far clearer than MC.

Appreciate your thoughts. I don't have a 3wt yet, but may consider over the winter.

Visibility was definitely below what I've come to expect for Chambers, but still above most of the other local lakes.

Was out wading last evening on Chambers -Tuesday 10/6, with fly rod. Went to the north end of the jetty that sticks out. Did catch 3 bluegill type, one with very yellow belly, nice size. Missed two fish, had them on, but they come off. One was a very large fish, I presume a bass, but not sure. I believe I did not set the hook properly. Lately for some reason I am missing fish with the fly rod. I'll have to concentrate on setting the hook I guess. Used wolly bugger in black, white, a streamer, caddis. 5wt.
Saw a sign that said goose blind, but did not see any.

Was out from about 2:00-4:00 yesterday. Wind was down a bit but water was still a tad stained so I went with the 2" fire tiger on the UL again. Pulled in 8 LMB, most under a pound, 2 just over a pound, one a 2+ very exciting on the UL!!! Just before I left I threw a top water and caught a 1+ and had a miss - gotta love top water!!! A very good day. Hunting trout today.
