Not bad fish at all but I'm tired of working so hard for a few fish... that anywhere else in the country would be easy to catch. I fish Blue Marsh often. Maybe once or twice a week since it's my "home" lake. I was there last Sunday trying for crappie. Managed a few dink LM, small bluegills and a 14' walleye. No crappie to be found but a tiny "6 incher. Pretty poor day for me. Almost every time I go to BM I swear I'll never go back but I do. Managed to get annoyed with the jet skies, water skiers and power boaters that just fly up and down the lake with no purpose. Some time you have to fish the weekend.

I hear you about the weekends, those days I try to go early and get off the main lake when the action starts, then I just head up into the no wake area... and sometimes even the no wake is a zoo! BUT just sometimes, sometimes all that boat action turns the fish on.. baitfish get smashed into the rock buffs and the bass hang out looking for injured prey.

You are so right about the boat generated waves turning on fishing sometimes. I had one of my best smallmouth days on a weekend in July. There were solid three footers rolling into the state hill side of the island. Worked that whole side catching fish until I just couldn't take the beating anymore. Besides the bass biting the catfish were on the feed also.

Glad to hear somebody does well at Blue Marsh. I typically fish that lake a handful of times each year in my buddies Bass boat and that lake has become my nemesis. I can fish there all day and catch one Bass. Everything I have caught out of there has been of very decent size but when I fish for about 7-8 hours and catch one 20" smallie; well; that's a lot of work, haha. Actually; I have never caught a Largemouth out of that lake; its always one decent smallie each time and nothing else. I see your pics on here from time to time Basser425 and it seems like you know what you are doing on that lake. Personally; I only have a 14' jon boat with an electric motor so I really don't care to take my boat on that lake (for fear of getting blindsided by the wakes created by everything else). But one of these days when I finally get my own Bass boat I will try to fish it more often. I know time spent on the water is the best way to learn so given the fact that I fish it a few times each year doesn't help.

Frogman... launch in the upper Fish Commission ramp up on RT 183... 2 weeks ago a friend won the Wetlands tourney from that area. Plenty of water above & below that launch. Wader; The problem with wading is access... most of the lake is accessible by trails through the game lands but you WILL walk a distance to get to the water... and then have limited area to fish because of the depths. The cove right at each main ramp are very open and you can walk around to a very productive point for bass & crappies from the spot RT 183 crosses over the lake arm at Mt. Pleasant. Guys, there are MANY times I put in and just use the trolling motor to search out small areas... just looking for isolated cover, rock piles or a lone piece of wood... and MANY times I do NOT catch larger fish, my goal is to get out and relax, no pressure just enjoy the water... so if I get 3-4-5 smaller fish I am happy.
