Stopped by Struble this morning, and saw two guys out in a boat on the left side of the lake, about half way down to the dam. They had an area marked off with bouys, from shore out to about 25 yds and had a large net hanging off the front of the boat. As I was watching I noticed they were tossing fish over the side of the boat ( you can see one mid air in first photo!). I was obvious they were doing a survey and counting the fish. A Pa Fish Commission emblem was on the front of the boat. The majority of fish they were throwing back were small size, but did see two larger fish and one that appeared to be a large catfish or carp.I was amazed at the quanity of fish they threw back in and counted over 50 in a short time from a partial net full. Up date on the survey. Talked to one of the fellows when they came ashore. They were mainly interested in walleye population. Said they caught quite a few and up to 26". No musky and said they have not stocked them in quite a few years and don't plan to. Also they have stocked white crappie and channel cats recently, and found quite a few nice cats.

That's very interesting. I wish there were some musky. Now if I could just figure out how to catch those walleye.

So glad they have no plans of putting musky in struble. That's the last thing that little lake needs.

I would love it. Another musky lake close to home. I might have to play with those walleye.

I feel like Struble is too small to be a good muskie lake.
Considering how good the muskie fishing is on Marsh Creek, I'm glad they aren't putting them in Struble.
Walleye on the other hand ... the more the merrier!!!

Ha ha. Good vid. I'm going to give it a try again one evening. I'm guessing you were using minnows?

White or pink fluke is the way to go with a half oz jig head bouncing it on the bottom

Look at the date of the post. It says the vid was posted in May.

Sounds like there are underlying issues that could be resolved with habitat improvement. However, the fish commission will probably discontinue the walleye and bass stockings rather than spend time and money on habitat improvement
