I noticed theres a been a fair amount of musky stocking in the river in the past decade. Up towards ontelaunee and down in the phoenixville area. Anyone ever target them? I spend a good amount of time kayaking and catfishing the river and have never had any encounters. Figured I would of seen some in the summer months with the low clear water.

I lived up where 61 intersects 422 or 222...back around 2000 I caught a few 36 inch fish and lost a nice one just fishing for smallies. I was there often so i know other guys have caught them there too. Where maiden creek connects to the river is a good spot and where the Tulpehocken connects to the river as well. again that was back around 2000-2002 so who knows now.

The schuylkill is a real underrated musky fishery. The state stocks the river with them almost every year in certain areas. Reading area. Black rock dam in phoenixville down stream to where it meets the Perkiomen. Norristown Dam downstream to Gladwyne Dam. You can go on the Pennsylvania fish and boat commission website to find out what stretches they stocked, how many, and what year they did it in. best of luck to you and I for one can't wait to be back on the water in a few weeks.

Yeah I was looking at the stocking reports. I think I'll have to launch at betzwood one day and give it a try.

Sounds good. I have a jon boat but only a trolling motor. Not sure how strong that current is at the ramp. I can definitely launch down at norristown. Good structure down that way with all the bridges too.

I took MWoodstck87 advice went down to Gladwyne with a buddy, he landed two tiger muskies one 23" and the other 26" . We also caught a couple nice smallies. We fished up towards conshy below the bridge.
