Heading back to Struble today, calling for a 30 mph wind. Saturday's forecast is looking way better, calm wind and cold. See you guys out there!

I'll be out tomorrow from about 10 till dark and sunday as well depending on the rain forecast.
Brian - the ice will be fine on sunday. The rain shouldn't do that much damage. The last rain only took about an inch away and it doesn't sound like we are supposed to get as much as they were calling for as of yesterday. I would bet the ice is a good 6" by now. Wednesday it was around 5"-5 1/2" and it's been nice and cold at night since then and the day time temps aren't hurting the ice at all.

Frank, I'm going to try the other side of Struble later today, by the railroad cove. Hopefully the wind isn't to bad on that side of the lake. Definitely looks like Saturday will be a nicer day. Maybe my brother and I will see you out there.

Fished Struble from about 3:30 until dark. Lots of small perch and gills but did manage to take 6 keeper gills. Once dark hit the flasher went crazy. Very windy though, much more than usual. There were probably 8 other guys there but not sure how they did. Giving it a go tomorrow am.

yes I am going to be doing the same with bassbum. Thought I would give marsh a go but decided to make the safe bet and go to struble. At least there is no open water. News said the wind was going to pick up and gust to 30mph tonight, which at struble means 50.

I fished Friday at Struble in that wind from 7:30 AM - 4 PM. The wind was brutual, watched one guy lose a bucket that blew all the way across the lake to the bank before stopping. I had to anchor everything down or it would of followed that bucket. Bite was slow until 3 PM then it turned on for about an hour. Took home 27 crappie, got to test out my new toy, the " jaw jacker". It worked flawlessly! Every time it tripped there was a fish on. Less work than a tip up, easy to set up and it was nice to be able to fish 2 holes effectively. Gonna try to get back out today, Sunday is supposed to be 1" of rain.

Congrats tom! I started ice fishing last year n it took a couple trips before I put any fish on the ice. That noise is scary as hell! Freaked me out and still does sometimes when it really shakes under my feet. But no worries it's actually the ice expanding!
Hoping the rain holds off tomorrow goIn to tray and make it out in the afternoon
