With lows in the single digits and even below zero this coming week in the Mt. Pocono area, I think next weekend will be the first time to hit the ice. With that being said I think it is going to be quite a while before Marsh even gets close. Any skim ice that was on the lake was lost to this rain and warm temps. I'm hoping to hit a couple of closer lakes this Saturday but I am unfamiliar with them. Guess I'll let my new marcum find the fish for me

What are some good lakes up "north" to try? I only got into ice fishing last year and whenever I have ventured "north" to fish it was to Canada.

Don't know Tim. It's so close I can taste it but just hoping the weather isn't teasing us. My daughter lives on the 49th floor of an apartment complex in Chicago overlooking Lake Michigan and sent a picture where it was 1 degree today. Also there appeared to be people fishing. This in store for us soon?? Keep fingers and rods crossed. Spent about $80 at Cabelas last Thursday on another pole, some ice minnows, and other jigs and just can't wait to get them wet!
