Does anyone think the rain will make the ice on the lake (especially Struble) unfishable tonight?

Maybe not tonight but be careful. I was there at noon and talked to a guy that said that someone went through the ice at Struble about 10am. He was out about 150 yds. from the ramp, smack in the middle. He was able to get himself out and lost all of his equipment. According to the guy I talked to that was there, the fellow said he was very lucky to be alive. The last I heard is that he apparently is OK, very shook up, but OK. Be careful all...

Its true. I know the guy that went in. Before he went in he called me and told me he was into a good crappie bite. The snow was falling while he was there hiding where the thin spot were. He called me after it happened and told me he went in and lost all his gear but not his life. Be careful people. It aint worth your life.

Next weeks weather is looking pretty good for ice to thicken up on local lakes!! If we have any luck we might be able to get out on the ice this Saturday or Sunday. What do you guys think?

Looking good for ice next week. If we get ice again it will be the 3rd time in one season. That must be a record.

Rode by the Coatesville reservoir yesterday. Edges were thin. Once I found a spot where I could walk on to get past the edge the Ice was about 3-4 inches, surprised me. Of course I didn't go more than a few feet out. As typical with the reservoir there were the usual big open water areas in the usual areas from geese and wind. I see some hard water jigging in my near future.

No, I haven't been there. Guess theres a chance that the fingers are froze. I expect Scotts Run and Hopewell has a good chance of being froze.

well, we got a good bit of cold temps here behind this snow so hopefully we can do some hard water jigging soon around here. I did well with yellow perch in tioga co a couple weeks ago,,be nice to not have to drive all the way up there to fish.
