There are some monster carp in marsh creek. Hard part is finding them, with all the varying depths theres really no one spot thats a sure thing. The heads of coves would be a good start, or heading out at night under lights. Struble is full of carp, but again a little tricky because the water is so murky. Best time is late spring when the spawn is on and they are shallow and vulnerable. Also used to be some big carp cruising shallows at hopewell lake in French Creek.

You could try the brandywine for bowfishing, I was actually thinking of getting into that myself. There are some monster carp in there too, I've seen some at stroud's preserve and down around the brandywine picnic park. I don't imagine carp to be very tasty, anyone ever eat it?

Best chance for Bow-Fishing carp is always rivers/streams. I grew up in Lancaster, and we could wade in the Conestoga and tail catch them during the spawn. We always put them back, the game was to throw them at each other. Always wanted to shoot them with a bow reel, but never could afford the equipment. Caught dozens on a line when I was a kid, ate them once, no good. Had some Amish neighbors who let us hunt rabbits, doves, pigeons (pheasants when PGC was stocking) on their farm and we would give the carp to them, they loved them. Otherwise best left to the coons, possums, birds if you shoot them on an arrow. If you want to try eating them, you'll see on-line directions are you cut out that bloodline vein that runs the length of the side fillet, cut that part out. Good Luck, exciting evening shooting!

I was going to get into bow fishing. Bought the setups, modified my boat and everything but never went. In the PA fishing book it says you cannot bow fish in bass and pan-fish enhancement program lakes so I was always under the impression that Marsh creek and Chambers we off limits. Struble seems like a good place, shallow and tons of carp. I have 2 bow fishing setups unused if anyone is interested.
