Hopewell, scotts run and struble are locked up. People fishing at Struble but it's only 3"...Im going to wait until Sunday. Ice at hope and scotts was about 3 inches. Crystal Clear!
All measurements were only 30-40 feet from shore, which is the first to freeze. So the large open lake is probably a bit thinner. Be careful, take a buddy and exercise caution. We are all itching to get out but it isn't worth falling in for. The warm weather is only for two days, after that is is supposed to get cold again. We should have fishable ice after that for a while.

Went out to a couple ponds in NJ this morning, ice was about 3 inches. Hopefully its thicker at struble or scotts run, I'm probably going to head out there tomorrow.

I would have to say the ice is good where those husky fellows are standing. What about Marsh creek. I would think there must be a safe cove or two there

Fished Marsh Creek saturday afternoon and sunday morning using small swedish pimples and wax worms. Quite a bit of action, every drop at times, but they were all small sunnies, perch and a few crappies mixed in. Only one of the perch would have been worth keeping.
Went over to struble sunday afternoon and only caught one small sunny that was smaller than all the fish I landed at MC.
Looks like we have another cold spell coming in after this little warm front. Hopefully it's enough to get the ice back to being "safe" again.

Fished Marsh Creek all day Tuesday & a couple of hours Wednesday, ice is marginal. 2 - 3 inches. Caught fish all day Tuesday, perch, crappie & gills. Kept a dozen perch. Hopefully the weather will turn colder & freeze the water on the ice, ice grippers were needed. It sure was fun getting back out on the ice after missing all of last year.

Tim, agree with you on the flasher. Takes some of the guess work out of the equation. I think we'll see more ice at Struble before Feb. is through. Like you, I was like a kid in a candy factory after a year of just wishing. Here's to hoping for more! Look at your PM's.

Wow! Another outstanding year, a week's worth of bitter temp. For four fishable days, gone in three days. What a disappointment

Witnessed a fellow attempting to get onto Struble yesterday. He said he went out a few feet and dug a hole but the ice was only an inch thick. He said he also heard cracking as he was digging. Next week in the 40's. Ugh!!!

Sorry Tony but I think we got all we are gonna get. The angle of the sun right now isnt a friend to the ice. I enjoyed the two days I got out. I guess its back to the boat at the warm water discharge and maybe some perch around the susky flats.
