I was wondering if this place is worth making the trip out to in the future. If so, what are some good choices for bass? Or Crappies? Can you catch walleyes here? If so, how? Are there any smallies here? Please help me.

Octoraro is a GREAT lake to Bass fish. All you need down there is an assortment of deep diving crankbaits. Just fish along the rip-rap along the roads and you should have a great day. The best section of riprap is right along the the boat ramp.....I have spent whole days just along that section and have always caught my limit (plus a few). For Bass though I would definitely say you need a boat (or rent one if you dont own your own). This lake is definitely worth a try. The Bass caught down there also seem to run a little bit larger than most lakes around here; I have never caught a monster down there....but plenty of 3-lbers.

Rip-rap is a type of structure.....rock boulders along the shoreline. For instance; the dam at Struble; the dam at Chambers etc. Octoraro has two roads going across it; both are lined with rocks heading into deeper water; that is where you want to fish. Pull the boat up parallel to the rocks (rip-rap) and cast a deep diver parallel to the shoreline; you won't be disappointed (at Octoraro that is) I've fished this way at other local lakes with alot less success. I did have one GREAT day at Struble a few years ago fishing that way!
