TomM, the guy who runs the boat rental has a permit to take people out on a pontoon boat for a tour of the lake, most of the fishermen are very unhappy about it. Most of us don't think it's right for him to be able to use a gas outboard when it's electric for everybody else.

Midnitebasser, I agree i don't think it is fair. My opinion on it is why show someone the lake on a gas powered boat if they will never be aloud to use one on the lake. my 2 cents...

For everybody's information, this is what I was told we need to do if we want any chance of putting a stop to this issue, we all need to write to our Representative, no emails or phone calls, actual letters(pen & paper) and send to Hon. Curt Schroder 315 Gordon Drive Exton, PA, 19341
I hope that is the right address, if anybody knows differently please post it.

Yea that is the right address ^ for anyone who wants to write, from what I've heard its just in a trial period right now, so if no one complains and it goes over well, you can almost expect to see it be a regular thing at MC. But on the other hand if the fishermen get together and make it known that its first of all not right, if one person can do it, against given laws, and make money on it!!! and the everyday people who fish, cant. leaving out all the pollution it will put into the lake that has been kept strictly clean until this went down.........anyways I just wanted to bring it to the attention of those who dont know.

I'll write hime. I don't even own a boat, but that is discrimination, plain and simple.

Boy this is starting to get very interesting. First the issue on the weed spraying and now guided pontoon boat tours, whats next? Who was responsible for this person being given permission to start a buisness using a gas motor on this lake were gas motors are against the law. Makes me wonder that maybe I could open up a hotdog stand or a beef barbecue pit on the Lyndell side then I could sell my goods to the people who come down to watch the speedboat races on the weekends. I wonder; Is there a way we could take the whole lake and move it to were the politicans couldn't find it. Standby It's not over till the fat lady sings. FILM AT 11

I saw him for the first time yesterday. I was shocked. Is he a sub-contractor for the State? Does the State get a percentage of the take? It is illegal for him to operate a gas engine and he should be fined!!! Also what is there to tour on Marsh, the dam? Unbeliveable. A petition is in order here.

I saw him too, around 7 pm. He was actually headed right for me, as if he didn't see me or anything. I just gave him a dirtly look. MC is a nice place for sure, but paying money to tour it by boat seems a bit much.

big d, yes the state parks get a percentage of what the concessions take in and that's most likely the biggest reason that they issued him the permit. Money talks if you know what I mean.

Some one should teach that guy some lake courtesy. He drives awfully close to smaller boats, and passed between me and another boat. He was about five feet from me and my canoe. Rowed it out to my favorite place and ten minutes later Im rowing somewhere else because he motors right threw the area

my 2 cents you are correct if i was and have fished in a lake for x amount of years and only the warden and the boat rental place use gas outboards then it should stay that way .... i have not seem him yet but i havent had a chance to get out there recently i think it should not be allowed .....

So, it's safe to say that if each fisherman \ woman paid the state 25 cents each time we used the lake, they would let us use gas motors? I thought the point of no motors was to keep th lake clean. Apparently not. Unfortunately, money helps people turn a blind eye.
I bet if we gave the PFBC enough money, they could find a reason to ban sailboats at Marsh Creek...
Rediculous.

I saw the the pontoon boat yesterday. I fished from shore Sunday night for an hour or so. The pontoon boat was parked on the water at the rental dock. There is a sign on the side that says "TOURS". Didn't see anyone on it.
