I had an awesome evening on the lake yesterday. I started fishing a bit after 5pm and caught my first fish, a chunky 16 incher on my fifth cast on the point right there at the Lyndell ramp. By 6:30 I had boated 8 fish while fishing the outside weed edges while headed towards the dam. Things slowed down after that but by 10:30 my total was 14 fish, 6 keepers including two over 3 pounds. Most of the fish came on a red/black Culprit 7" worm on a 1/4 oz t-rig, fished S-L-O-W-L-Y and a few on a smoke 5" Senko weightless.
Tight lines, Tom

Nice going Tom and thanks for the report, as good as fishing was last year it seems to be even better this year. Did you get a chance to use that reel, if so did it work alright, it didn't fall a part or anything did it.

Sounds like you had a good night, I wish I could say the same. I waded the chalfont rd section from 6:00 to 7:30 landed 2 both around 1.5lbs. One was caught one a dark senko and the other with a stone jig with a smallie beaver as a trailer. Tough night for me, sunday will hopefully be the next day out, Ill think ill bring the kayak then

Is that you Herb? The reel is great. It's on my c-rig rod and I've already put fish in the boat with it. I actually thought MC was a bit tough last year. The water never seemed to clear up like it normal does, like it is now. I fishing again yesterday afternoon, just for about 3 hours. Took my son and with his broken leg he didn't want to stay long, but I still managed 8 fish but my son bageled. No keepers but still fun for sure. Tom

Yes this is Herb, glad the reel is working fine. I haven't even had the boat out fishing yet, had an electrical problem and could get my outboard to start. I finally fixed it, so now I don't have anymore excuses for not getting out. I've been fishing from shore and doing pretty good but I was at Marsh Creek Friday evening and I also got the big bagel.

My son and I went out again this afternoon. This time he got one, his first cast, then I got one two casts later. That was it except for a real nice one my son lost right at the boat. Much different day than the last two. Herb, do you fish the Tuesday nighters? I'm thinking about it, if work cooperates.

No, I work night shift but I do have the last two weeks in July off and would like to try and fish those two, I made it to one last year but didn't do any good.

Midnight basser, The kayaks are great, and I have never flipped it either. For anyone that doesnt have a boat or can not afford a boat you should look into getting one. The only downfall with me would be on very windy days it can be difficult to stay in postition.

shillins24, I have a 19 ft bass boat but doesn't do me any good at Struble Lake, the boat ramp isn't deep enough to get the boat off the trailer, I've been looking at the inflatable pontoon boats, they look to be more my style.

I have a Coleman Scanoe. It's basically just a flat back canoe that I stand up in all the time. With the battery, trolling motor and all my gear in it, I can set hooks with out losing the slightest bit of balance. It has worked for me in 6 inches of water - I just lift to motor out and push off the bottom with an oar.
