Was down there sat evening.Saw 4 in the Brandywine where the spillway creek meets it.Saw one in the spillway creek, nothing real big.I wonder if because of all the rain this spring, theres more water being let out from the lake more often then normal, resulting in more fish coming through??

During the BTCC Rodeo this past weekend there were at least 10 spotted in kerr park alone. 5 of them were in the kids hole, 3 more at nine dozen and a couple at the shute and buttonwoods.
One tiger musky was landed on sunday at nine dozen, Bob Bonney was called and he came with a few members from Muskies Inc.. They took the 37" tiger to marsh creek and it was released.
The members that showed up from muskies inc. were showed the other fish and understand that there is a problem with the # of muskies in the East branch of the brandywine and beaver creek as well.
They will be making an effort to remove as many muskies as possible from these creeks. Some will be fished out, and hopefully some will be netted out when trout fishing pressure on the stream calms down.
Muskies can be kept right know if they are 40" or larger.
please continue reporting your sightings to brandywinetrout@aol .com. Please let your local waterways conservation officer and commissioner know your concern in regards to muskies effecting the trout fishing in the east branch and beaver creek.

Keep posting sightings on this site as well. I just joined muskies inc and would be happy to help safely remove them and put them back into the lake, rather than have them killed.

In all seriousness,I'm not part of whats going on there but i would guess the muskies are being removed because "there not supposed to be there".Unlike the lake.

My buddy was at the mouth of the spillway where it enters the brandywine and counted 8 today. He said they were all at least 36" and bigger.

Worked the creek from the Dorlan Mill parking lot and up to the spillway. Saw 1 medium sized one by the trestle that was pretty beat up looking. He spooked into the deep water after a few casts. Saw none until I got to the blowdown near the falls. Decent one there, also a bit ragged. He moved upstream after I casted too close. I wanted to try near the falls but there were 5 guys fishing that little spot. Apparrently the word is out. I looked for a minute then beelined from that circus. I went above and didn't see or hook any. Left when it started pouring. Any fish remaining there are either beat up, super harrassed or have been caught. I hope that those which were caught were moved back to the lake or at least harvested within the legal limits and not left to rot. It is not the muskies' fault that they are there..but seriously, if there were that many people out on a crappy weather night, those fish will be cleaned out in no time...probably most have been already at this rate.

Ok guys, I have to admit that I was a little skeptical of all the muskie reports from the Brandywine that I have been hearing as of late. decided to take my son down there this morning and check it out for ourselves. Let me just say that I am truly sorry for disbelieving and will not doubt you again. We parked at the paper mill and walked up to the train trestle to begin our muskie adventure. We weren't there more than four or five minutes before I turned around and saw a 36+" fish about two feet behind me. Made a few casts and watched him swim upstream. I thought ok so there is A muskie in the Brandywine and the spillway. Well' four hours later after fishing up to the spillway and back, my son managed a 34", a 38' and a 44" all on Senkos. We saw 18 total muskies from the bridge to the base of the spillway. We also saw two channel cats that were at least 10+ pounds, some LM in the three to five pound range, a huge yellow perch and a pickerel. One of the muskies had a large spinner bait stuck crossways in its mouth. I doubt it will live. I don't think it will be able to eat. Some of the MI50 guys outta get up there and try to net them out and return them to the lake, I don't know how much forage is in there for all that we saw.

Fished the lower spillway yesterday and counted at least 8 different muskies. could get any to take flies but they would follow.
It was pretty wild with the little bit of extra water that was being released.....the muskies were jumping out of the froth like salmon trying to make it upstream. Man are they fast, like rockets coming flying out of nowhere.
