What is the best way to dry a handgun should it get immersed in water? I am going to do some wading tomorrow, and i want to carry my 9mm, but if I happen to take an accidental dip, I would like to know the best way to dry out my gun so it doesn't rust. Any input will be appreciated.

No biggie. Just dissasemble it and let it air dry, just wipe it down now and then with a silicone cloth or some light oil. It would have to sit, went in the case for a while for it to rust.
Only part I would be concerned about (depending what kind it is) is if water gets trapped within the slide in the firing pin mechanism. Personally I would probably take some compressed air and blow it out good to make sure it doesnt stay damp inside.

I get my shotguns soaking wet while duck hunting. I just wanted to add I'll speed up the drying process by putting it in front of a fan disassembled. WD-40 will get water out of tight spots too but it's not a proper gun oil so just use it for removing water.
