Finnaly got another band and it was on a snow goose. Didn't see the band until I had cleaned it and was throwing the carcass away. Reported the band online and got the info. It's from the Canadian territory of nunavut. I believe that's the arctic. Banded in august 08. Pretty cool.

awesome. I am supossed to go on a hunt this satuday and I am hoping it doesn't get cancelled again. We booked a snow hunt in Febuary but the birds were not on any of the guides leases so he rescheduled us for this weekend. We will see.
I got my first banded canada right at the end of the season in NJ.

Did you get your info back for where your bird is from? Snows have been moving real hard past few weeks. Hopefully there's still some around for you. Where's the trip?

Yep . It was from St lawrecnce County New York. It was banded in 2006 and the certificate said it hatched in 2005 or earlier.
Our hunt is supossed to be in either Delaware or Maryland. The guide we are using leases a lot of acres so he operates in three states. When I spoke to him last night it didn't sound too good. The warm weather has really gotten them moving north and he wasn't sure if it was going to be worth it. I won't know until Friday.
