Takem, I thought the same thing. That big bass I got this year a big muskie bite mark in him. I'm sure it happened when he was younger as it looked like an old injury. Last year I only got 2 or 3 on tip ups. This year just 1 so far. I recall years ago having a flag go up from bass every half hour not to mention catching jumbo perch at will. Oh well, they say all things end.

I have one of those fish-cams and the last time I went ice fishing on the Marsh I was watching many keeper perch eyeball my juicy waxworm but not hitting. I left with no fish. I know this doesn't help you but its why there are still many fish in there. If it was too easy everyone would do it.

Yea, The guys with fish finders tell me they are constantly marking fish but they arent taking. I was thinking they might be dinks. But that is encouraging. I'm not giving up. something will trigger them to bite sooner or later. We will get them before ice out.

Got out Sat. am and the ice was good but the fishing wasn't. Fished from 6am-10am and only managed a good sized b-gill. The rest of the fish I caught were very small gills and perch. It's a task to drill through two layers of ice/slush then the ice itself.

It is the overstocking of muskies?..but all the panfisherman who keep 30,40, 50+ fish to eat each time they go out doesn't do anything to the population... I will not forget the day that a guy sat there and told me all the muskies were eating his panfish, but he had a stringer with 50 perch on it.. It is easy to blame the muskies since you are not catching fish...Muskies have been in the lake for 20+ years... why is it problem now?

Mother Nature has a way of making things work out. They have been putting a lot of Musky in Marsh Creek so more are being caught. More are being kept and more will die from mis handleing and deep hook sets. So it all works out. They will eat their share of panfish. When a Musky is in the area the panfish shutdown. They will never hurt the panfish population. I fish only for panfish. As long as we put back the small fish and go easy on them during the breading season. You will never hurt the population.

I have been fishing here the past few weeks & jigging up lot's of nice gills & some bass & perch as well. I put out bait rods & BAIT WASTERS WITH MINNOWS for hours with not even a bite. Yet I catch keeper bass jigging only a few yards away. go figure

Capt Crappie, Have you been fishing at the ranger station. If you dont mind me asking. I fished my butt off there last weekend without a bite. I found some crappie in the cove toward the dam from the boat ramp. Did good there 1 day but it slowed since.
