I'm sure you've all heard of the proposed legislation to code almost all ammo, and that if it passes, all uncoded ammo will have to be destroyed, etc.(if not, check out ammunitionaccountability.com- a liberal site showcasing the 18 states' proposed bills-including PA) What do you all think about the possibility of this actually passing, and could it really be implemented? I mean, come on, wouldn't everyone just hide their ammo, and wouldn't criminals just stop by the local range to pick up a few brass with codes on 'em to leave at the crime scene? This sounds like the most stupid and scary legislation I've heard about in a long time!

I know everyone is in an uproar about it, but you have to think about those aspects you mentioned, and also many others, i think in the end this wont be a viable answer to any of our problems, and i seriously doubt that it will make it through both houses, even with the democrat/liberal majority, as for destroying old ammo, id like to see them enforce that one.

Not anytime soon. As you already might know, all new guns come with a spent shell casing which is some states is submitted to authorities when the firearm is sold. This is supposed to be used to track guns used in crimes (firing pin makes a signature indent on the primer). As brilliant of an idea as it is, there has never been a crime solved by this matter. I think at the time they would start serializing individual rounds, is the time most major MFGs are going to throw in the towell. Everyone will just have to get a lead melting pot, and some bullet molds and create your own non serialized ammo to kill paper targets with!
