I just picked up the ducks from the Taxidermist. I will take some pictures and post them. There are some differences in the tail as well that we couldn't see if the picture above. But I still don't know exactly what it is or if it is just a mallard in eclipse plumage or a mallard wigeon.

They were 250 a duck from Stuff it Taxidermy in Lenni PA. real nice guy and does a great job. I am going to stuff as much as I can before the wife puts her foot down. Ha Ha! I have my turkey with him right now and I hope to do a mature snow goose this year as well. I really wanted to get my turkey done flying but I don;t have the room for something like that in my house. I have pictures of the bird on the DU website trying to get some feedback as to what it is. Regardless he came out pretty cool and looks good on the wall.

This website is pretty cool. It's got tons of mallard hybrids. I shot a mallard hybrid the other day. Thought it was a black duck when it came because it was very dark and quacking like a hen. Here's the site 10000birds.com/hybrid-mallards.htm

Here's the hybrid I shot. Should of got it mounted. Not a good pic but it had a green tint in the sun with a light blue speculum. It's very dark brown but speckled on the face and neck.

Its cool to get somehting odd like that, congratulations. I did well on Saturday and shot a really good looking black duck I thought about getting done but my wallet can't handle it right now. We ended up with 4 total. 2 black ducks and two drake mallards. We should have limited out on mallards but we had three flocks boming into our decoys locked up that were flared by hunters shooting at other birds about 150 yards away. What ya going to do right. It was the first day for us this year where we actually saw tons of ducks. The cold weather definitely pushed them down our way.
I am hiting a guided hunt this saturday down in Maryland with the outfitter we hunted with last year and then we have a snow goose hunt at the end of the month. Hopefully I will have some cool stuff to report.

Nice. I've been seeing some snows around. Starting to show up I guess. Saw a lot of ducks this morning. All mergansers and mallards. Mallards didn't want to cooperate but it was fun working them. Ducks have finnaly shown up. Got 1 goose, 1 mallard and 3 mergansers.
