I am planning to run down to Octoraro soon for some crappie fishing in my kayak. I usually pick up minnows at Gordon's when fishing in the area (marsh creek and French creek). Unfortunately I will not be going by the store headed SW from Delco to Octoraro.
Is there anywhere to pick up bait down there?
Can anyone tell me a good spot to launch the Kayak?
BTW... I have been catching many crappie and some nice bass at Marsh Creek but most of the crappie are very small. Just like to give it a try somewhere else.
Thanks

You can buy minnows and other bait at the bait machine on 472 and spruce grove road or at the Octoraro reservoir bait and tackle shop on Spruce Grove road.

You mat want to check with Octoraro first. I'm not sure that they allow 'yaks and canoes.

Thanks for the info guys... I contacted Chester water athority and Jim Neary's Bait & Tackle. Both sources tell me kayaks are allowed in the lake. So I will be headed there tomorrow early AM. I will post my report. BTW... I found a rules document online for the resevoir on the Chester water athority's web site. The link is below. www.chesterwater.com/images/feb2006.pdf
