whos going out bow hunting tomorrow. I'm gonna have trouble sleeping tonight. I might pass up a doe tomorrow just to see what kind of bucks I have running around for regular season. Theres 3 decent ones I know of. I know theres a 9 point not sure about the other 2.

I haven't bow hunted for about 15 years. When I did it was a recurve, not compound. Took up a flintlock to extend the season and am once again considering bow. I think it will be a recurve again, though. Anybody have any info on new recurves?

Still plenty of good old 'bear' recurves floating around. I know thats what I'd be after for traditional bows. But there are a lot of companies still making them. check out tradgang.com if you havent before, complete traditional hunter community. Lots of good info to bring ya up to date about stepping into the past lol

I went doe hunting and saw no does. I guess thats how it works. I saw a 9 point, two 6 points, two 4 points and a spike. They are in pre rut already. I saw the bigger 6 point make 2 scrapes and they were all sparring. They were rubbing every tree in their path. It a little too early for this. Pretty cool. They were fighting 10 yards from me. Wish I had a camera with me. I think thats why I saw no doe. They probably chased them out. I'm sure the doe are no where near ready for mating.

during the rut the deer were thick. Saw nice bucks and plenty of doe everywhere. Now they seem to be laying low. My woods is dead.

Went to Brady's Lake on Monday. Nothing but wet. Tuesday was windy and there were very few people to get them moving. Not familiar with the area so we were guessing, hoping and doing a lot of walking. Went to Cauffman Hill in Bucks County on Wed. and saw quite a few does but I won't take a doe until late in the season for meat when I'm desperate. I'd also like to wait for flintlock season.
