Anyone hear like to wingshoot? Especially the not so common ones? I'm just wondering if anyone can shed some light on any semi-nearby places (besides french creek, marsh etc etc) on where to go and maybe have a better chance at seeing some woodthingy an/or grouse. **edit***LOL no I didnt really type wood'thingy' lol I guess its a bad word

I've seen some "timberdoodles" in this area but have had better luck going out towards the Lancaster county area. For some reason, I seem to kick up more of them out in that area, even I am not trying to hunt them. Try some of the SGLs near the Susky along Lancaster and York Counties.
I have never seen a grouse in the Chester county area. Nearest place I have come across one is up near Leaser Lake. I am sure there are some around closer to here though.

Just thought i'd explain that this board has a built in censor for "bad" words. Thats why when you want to say woodc**k, or c**kbird , the censor changes it to "thingy"bird or woodthingy.

Yea dave, I talked to the game warden he said they stock quite a few birds there, only problem is, like the others around is they get a lot of pressure. I think as the season goes on the numbers will go down, both game and birds lol.
back to the woodthingys. I'll have to try and get out to lancaster county way, only another 2 days i will probably be able to get out before that season ends, but grouse goes on for a bit yet. thanks for the tip
