Thought we'd try a new topic on the board, since a lot of you guys also hunt. Your welcome to post any reports, big game or small game , as well as any questions about seasons, equipment, or success stories, on here. Good luck this fall!

Definitely a good idea!!
I'll start it off. Anyone been doing any pheasant hunting around the Marsh Creek area? I stopped going a few years back but have the itch again, so was wondering if it has been getting really hammered or not. Also, anyone hear of any turkeys showing up closer to this area? Getting tired of going over an hour away for them. I have been told that some are up at French Creek, but have not seen any sign while scouting up there.

sign up!!
marsh creek is always hit pretty hard, but have been hearing people getting birds. Plus the field is super thick so there is a lot of cover there. I see turkeys once in a while, not at marsh though but around the area. I wouldnt know where to really hunt them, french creek MIGHT be ok but I still think an hour north is a better bet

I was out on the lake bass fishing last Thursday near the main point on the left side entering Ranger's Cove, when three thingybirds were spooked and flew right down to me close to the waters edge. I got two with my 7' cranking stick, but then it jammed and I never got the third "shot" off. If I would have only had my shotgun! LOL The birds are there!

I have a 6 mo old German Shorthaired Pointer pup that I would love to socialize with other hunting dogs & learn how to train properly. Anyone have any info on local clubs that might do that? I've been checking websites, but can't find any..Thanks!

I tried finding one for my lab but couldn't find any nearby. I don't know much about training upland bird dogs. There are a lot of great dvd's. "gun dog supply" has a bunch. Congrats on the pup. German shorthairs are awesome bird dogs.

I wish it didn't cost so much but since I rabbit hunt with beagles and my old 1980's non gameland spots don't have much rabbits anymore due to more ferral cats and more foxes. I now hunt state gamelands often and it would be really hard to hear the dogs sound off see a phesant and not shoot. So I begrudgingly paid for the$25 stamp

I'm ok with it. Maybe it will keep a few people away. There's still less birds than previous years. That's disappointing.
