Just a reminder that the Pa Fish Commission will be restocking several creeks in our area for you trout fishermen. slated to be stocked on Oct 4th are, Scotts Run Lake, Pickering Creek, E, Brandywine creek, W. Clay middle branch, and Tulpehocken Creek. Most of the creeks are stocked in the delayed harvest area's, so check your regulations. www.fish.state.pa.us/. Fall trout fishing can be enjoyable this time of year, usually there are no crowds, just diehard fishermen.

Can't wait for the trout!!! This year was my first time trout fishing. I am in Drexel Hill and fished the Darby Creek from opening day until June. I am looking forward to hitting Ridley Creek and possibly Chester Creek as these are the only ones stocked in Delaware County in October. Wouldn't mind testing Brandywine if there is a place that is not under delayed harvesting rules (artificial lures only).

The fish commission does restock the Brandywine on the week of Oct 4, however traditionally they only stock the catch and release area. The artificial lure only section is from Dorlans Mill rd. downstream to Dowlins Forge Rd. The rest of the creek is open to fishing from Kerr Park in Downingtown to above Glenmoore where the creek crosses Rt.282. Ocasionally the Brandywine Trout Club will do a stocking in the fall if they have extra fish available, but have not heard anything about this fall. There usually is a surprising amount of hold over trout that survive the summer. However They can be dificult to catch ,usually holding tite in the deep holes and under cuts. Hope this helps and thanks for your posts !
