can anyone help me out on what kinds of cover are in lake octoraro? to me it seems like an awful lot of open bttom and no signifacant structure. also any tips on locating walleye would be helpful

Hi John, Octoraro has many trees along the shore, boulders, rock walls & deep underwater structure. Virtually no weeds. Last year water level was low due to Dam repairs so a lot of good wood was dry. Should be back in the water now. Don't know where the walleye hold but I would suspect on deep drop offs. Lot of deep water fishing. Talk to Jim at the Bait and Tackle shop and he will point you in the right direction. Good Luck...

Also theres still a lot of tree stumps in the lake. The lake has never been a good walleye lake, it's been stocked several times and they just never seem to take hold, not sure why. It's a good lake for bass, crappie's, catfish and carp. Now if you do manage to find a fish able population of walleye in the lake I would not post it on the internet or you might have a lot of company the next time you go to the lake. JMO
