Never fished Octoraro- Does one have to remove the gas outboard from the boat in order to be allowed to fish the lake?

No you don't need to remove your outboard but you have to keep your lower unit up out of the water. The lake is only open to boats from April 1 Thur October 31 and only during the day time.

It's suppose to open at 6 am, but the guy who runs the place has been known to get up late, it's happened to me and I have talked to a few guys who said that it has happened to them also.

I've always wanted to fish this reservoir, but can't seem to locate the ramp. Would you guys like to give me some directions, say from the Parkesburg area?

Take RT. 10 to Rt. 1, go south on RT. 1, get off at next exit RT. 472 and make a right on 472, in about 2 miles or so you will go down a hill and cross the lake, when you get to the top of the hill on the other side of the lake you will come to a gas station and store, just after the store make a left hand turn go maybe 1 mile and the boat ramp will be on your left. When you pull in the parking lot you have to stop at the fishing headquarters (little tackle shop beside the house) to pay the ramp fee before you go down to the ramp to launch your boat. I hope this isn't to confusing, if you need more help just ask.

I was bowfishing. We only got 6 cause it started raining. They were every where though. Could of really done some damage if we had a few hours. We brought rods but never even got to fish. I'm gonna go back soon as I can.
