Got up to the lake around 8am; the usual bass boats and kayaks were going hard at it. Calm to very light wind made for good top water conditions for my fly rod. Missed a bunch of blue gills but also landed a goodly number, though mostly smallish. Left around noon at which time there were a bunch of spotted Lantern Flies bringing fish up. Also caught a feisty bass (around a foot) tight to the bank. Beautiful day to be out!

No; I was using poppers, hoppers and then poppers some more. I will tie some though.

I'm guessing a Gray Wooly Worm which has a red tag will work and it's a fast tie. If you want more realistic they have black legs and a pretty distinct segmented gray body. Honestly, the gills weren't all that picky.
