Can anyone help me out for this. I've had 5 muskie follows over the weekend, all on a double bladed cowgirl and did the figure 8s when they tailed and they followed so close without ever opening there mouth to hit, is there something else I should be doing when I get them in that range? This is my first time really fishing them in a lake setting so any advice will be greatly appreciated.

All you need to do is make another 9,995 more casts then you will be good. There is a reason they are called the fish of 10,000 casts. Keep after it, it will happen. If you are getting follows then you are on the right path.

Couldn't agree more with ArizonaAngler. I don't target muskie but I too have had dozens follow to the boat but never land them. The one piece of advice is to slow down the presentation.

Or speed it up ... I made a bad cast(5" stickbait) on top of some weeds once cranked as fast as I could to get it in to cast where I intended and BAM nice little 35" muskie. Caught his twin a little later and also a smaller 20"er all on the super fast retrieve. I was fishing there(different lake) most of the day looking for walleye. I had beat the water with both jigs and the 5" stickbait with more conventional retrieves

We have had some luck on this lake with glide and jerk baits when we get follows on double 8's or 10's . Another option that has worked go to a smaller spinner with a single blade . If you are seeing them you are doing the right thing sometimes speed changes help .

Switch to bass fishing, you'll catch more fish and your share of musky as a by product on Marsh. I've fished it 5/6 times this yr for bass and landed 3 musky, lost one more at the boat. I'm sure the musky guys do the same on nice bass.

I couldn’t agree more with 1okcastmybutt. I was Muskie fishing last week laid down my Muskie rod and started bass fishing and caught a 46 inch Muskie biggest one for me to date. I post a pic but not sure how to.

Has anyone caught pures in the past couple years. I know they havent stocked them in about 10 years and only stock tigers which are sterile. I believe i caught a pure which would mean they are reproducing on their own. I cant figure out how to post pics to put it on here

Generally you want to speed up when you go into your 8. Slow down on your turns and speed up in the straights. You never know though. Changes in speed are key.
