My beagle was born in June last year so he really didn't hunt last year. Sure he went out a few times for walks as I call it cuz he barely left my side while the other dogs ran rabbits and pheasants. So after a spring and summer of taking him out much as I could sometimes alone sometimes with his uncle and other dogs he began to know his purpose. Flash forward to recently took him to french creek gun range 1st day of pheasant cuz didn't want the hassle of so many hunters and I put down his 1st rabbit on a circle by himself. Me and my dad took him to the gamelands on Monday got his 1st pheasant by himself. He jumped a couple more but they took up out of range no shoots. Took him to the public hunting land on 282 today no pheasants but a rabbit took him on 2 huge circles through the the swamp. I got the rabbit on the 2nd circle I was moving too much on the 1st circle trying to get in position but the rabbit heard me and diverted. I held my position and waited for the 2nd circle praying he didn't loose it or the rabbit hole up. Looking forward to spending years hunting with my friend. Hope to head out Thursday with my friend who has his sister
