Figures the state would stock a lake it's about to drain.

I need to get more info , to know if state did stock?? I would guess, if water level is drawn down, the mud would not allow getting the fish to the water??

Parks facebook page answered me when i messaged them.
"I don't believe it was. The trout isn't usually stocked until the end of October"
Sorry for the misinformation about the stocking.

I have a feeling the drawdown got postponed due to the unusually wet summer we've had.

I was there yesterday and the water was down about 2 ft from normal pool. The DCNR officer I spoke to said it would be drawn down about 6 ft total and from what he was told there would not be a fall trout stocking.

Do the banks stay muddy while this is going on? If banks harden up seems like it would awesome shore fishing with all the fish congested.

It generally takes a long time for the mud to harden... and even then there may be spots that will suck you down! I lost one of my hip boots up at Locust Lake one year during a drawdown. Mud was dry, cracked looking and mostly OK but sank to mid thigh at one spot... fortunately Pop was there to pull me out otherwise I'd be a fossil....
DO NOT GO SOLO
