I walk the White Trail nearly every day and this morning met up with 2 Spotted Lanternflies for the first time in the park. Knew this was coming, but when the first landed on me I was quite surprised. Killed them both, but have no idea where they came from, haven't seen any on trees. Possibly hitched a ride on the trucks now working on the new development.

There is a page on the DNRC site (i think) where you report them. Reported 2 of them last year here at the house in Berks(Temple area). Probably seen 50 so far cutting my grass this year.

Thank you! I did go on the website today to mark the map - I had seen many in Boyertown/Berks County last summer, but these were the first I'd seen here.

That's a shame. They definitely seem to be expanding their range. I found them at my house in Chester County earlier this summer but didn't see them last year. Reported it and I've been taking out as many as I can. Crazy how many trees of heaven are around the area and from what i've read that's where the lanternflies like to breed.

I was down at a house near Douglasville for work yesterday and they had probably 200 of them on the exterior of their home. They did report it and they do have someone coming to "take care of the issue" on Monday. I did have one on my windshield when I got back in my car but got it off of there very quickly. I checked the vehicle over and then got out of there, haha.

This is the first year i've ever seen one and they are quite abundant in the marsh creek area. I don't think the federal agencies are even responding any longer as the reportings are too numerous. They are nasty buggers and have decent reaction times so can be tougher to squash. No idea what happens from here and how they could possibly ever be eradicated. Add them to the list with the stink bug? Trump should add these to his list of negative effects of trade with China?

In the spirit of making lemonade from lemons, I tied up a few "lanternfly" flies last weekend and had a killer evening on the Brandywine on Sunday. Fallfish and sunnies eagerly took the fly.

Was up there on Labor Day. Must have killed a dozen of them. I actually flagged down a DNR truck riding by and she said that they have no pesticide for them and they are encouraging everyone to kill them on the spot.

The lake is infested. Thousands and thousands all over the water. Kayak fishing today, could not keep them off my boat. It was unbelievable. Absolutely infested
