Made it to marsh 3/30 to give the perch fishing a shot. Was a little bummed to see the fish were spawned out. Took me close to an hour to figure out where they'd be and I got into them big time. For about 2 hours straight close to every cast I hooked crappie, perch, and bluegill with a few bass thrown in. Most perch were decent size 10"+. One of my best days panfishing in a long time. Returned Good Friday with very windy conditions to the same spot hoping to get into them again. Wind was howling and my hands eventually gave in. Not as much action but caught 15 perch in an hour. Really had to work for them that day. Looking to head back and try another spot I've been eyeing up.

Congrats! Sounds like a great day for you. What general area was most productive? Near shore, offshore, creeks?

Near and off. It was bizarre. I was fighting the wind a bit and periods of rain but when I could get my bait out as far as possible ~35-40 yard cast I'd hook nothing but crappies. Crappie bite was very aggressive and all fish were in that 9" range. Then probably a ~10-15ft zone in front of me I was hooking perch from the 9-13" range mostly spawned out females. Then in between the two zones nothing but bluegill mostly the 6-8" range with a few large ones. Second trip was a crap shoot caught perch but everywhere.

Sounds fun! Was his from shore or a boat?
