Fished for 3 hours this morning. The shallow areas of the lake have 3 to 4 inches of ice, but it gets much thinner quickly as you head to the deeper water. The deeper areas are about 2 to 2.5 inches. So if you go out be very careful and stay shallow.
Had a brief crappie blitz when I showed up around 10am, but as soon as the snow stopped the crappie disappeared. Only picked up a few smaller perch after that. Fished in 4.5 ft of water. Was just nice to get out and drill some holes again
BE CAREFUL OUT THERE! With the snow on the ice you don't know what you're getting into. Stick to the coves to the left and right of the ramp for a couple more days

Fished Saturday afternoon on Struble, ditto what bassbum said about the ice conditions. I fished over 4 feet of water, had a steady bite with crappie and a few perch ( no keepers). Had planned on going back today ( Sunday) until I saw the forecast, a little too windy for my liking and a dangerous windchill. Reminder to myself: bring an extra propane bottle for the heater!

Fished Sunday morning for several hours, bite was really slow, picked up 3 fish. Most of the guys were hanging in the cove on the left on 4 inches of ice. A few guys ventured out further and reported 2 - 2 1/2 inches of ice out there. Ice conditions should be better by midweek.Happy New year everyone, great start and alot of good days on the ice coming!
