Does anyone know if there are any restrictions on access to the park? I'm thinking of fishing pretty late one of these nights and I don't recall if they close the gate or anything like that.

As far as I know the "park" side gate has been locked since the County bailed out about 5yrs ago before then it was only open dawn to dusk. However the boat launch side has always been open 24/7. We used to park at the launch, walk around and wade the "park" side back in the 90's after hours. Don't know what the "park" side looks like now last I stopped by was a year or two back. At that time the "grass" was knee high or higher and the little fishing dock in the cove at the boat launch was gone(don't know if the other one was still there or not).
I heard rumors that some guy was doing a "grass roots" effort to maintain the "park" but haven't been up. Several years ago I had sent a long E-mail to Cabala's Corporate about adopting the "park" as a way of "giving back" to the community but never heard back..... maybe I'll send one to Bass Pro since they own Cabala's now.
P.S. --- if you are shore fishing most of the near shore is weed choked.... so heavy tackle and weedless baits rule.

Thanks icemole. I've got a boat, was thinking about fishing late into the night. I know all about the weeds, but luckily can get outside of them.
I saw a gofundme of a guy who was raising money to help him mow the grass there, not sure if that's what you were referencing.

Well a boat would take care of the weeds.... although I'd still keep weedless lures as an option. We used to toss frogs back then and get some decent bass after dark. GOOD LUCK
Probably the same guy
