Water temp 67/68, winds 5/10 variable, clarity a Lil stained, caught fish in 2-8 fow. Virtually all caught on jigs and CrkBaits. Also caught a very nice pickerel 24". Fished the drop offs and weeds in the back end.

Nice catch! And a 24" pickerel; that sounds like fun. Me and a buddy caught 4 of them last year around this time all between 23-25"; the pickerel are getting active now : )

Sounds like a great day with a big pickerel to top it off!

Do the pickerel really get more active this time of year? I've been targeting them all summer on the fly with no luck. Guess i'll revisit lake.

Not a pickerel expert at all but my experience tells me when I fish early spring or fall for crappie I catch pickerel by accident

Pickerel LOVE the cooler water temps and become much more active this time of year. I normally catch a few down at Chambers each year and all are caught either in early Spring or Fall once the water temps start to cool. I may have caught one or two over the summer although I can't really recall but the big mama's are going on the prowl now!
