We got out to the lake at 6:15 AM and the water was very calm. The water temps were right around 74 degrees. It looked like an awesome morning to be on the lake and I was hoping for a decent bite. However; we ended the day with 4 bass boated (two of them "not too shabby"). I had another one hooked that spit my bait when it jumped out of the water and my buddy caught a crappie as well. He had numerous other crappies follow in his bait. The sad part though is we could not find any type of pattern. Of the 4 bass boated and the one lost they were all caught/hooked on different baits. Talking to other folks afterwards didn't sound like anyone else did great either. We did however see a guy go overboard on his Ranger Bass boat down by the dam. We watched momentarily and realized all was okay. When we did get down his way we did ask if everything was okay and he stated that he was not going to lose a $25.00 bait in the lake. Apparently his MegaBass Jerkbait got caught on something on the bottom and he went in after it, haha. Me personally; I would have said a few bad words and snapped it off. Actually; there's no way I would even buy a $25.00 bait. We asked if he had caught anything on it and he said it was only his 2nd cast.
