Looking to take the kayaks out early in the morning this weekend. Any suggestions between Scott's Run and Hopewell. I have about 4 hours. Interested in chasing bass and possibly pickerel. Thanks in advance, I have not fished either of these locations before.

My choice would be Hopewell.. A fair amount of bass, but most not large. Hopewell is a little larger. But I have not fished Scott's Run much.

Your chances are better for pickerel in Scotts Run, but they will be on the smaller side. If you are more interested in bass then Hopewell is you best choice anything over 12" is rare, but lots of them. Downsize lures a 4" worm, smaller spinnerbaits(1/8th-1/4 range)and smaller plugs will get more hook-ups than normal bass baits. At Hopewell there is a slight chance to get a nicer pickerel also there are a few real nice perch + crappies swimming around.

Thanks for the answers. I ended up at hopewell and spent some time working the Lilly pads with a frog. Got a few bass in the boat but missed a few on the hookset. I did see a few decent sized fish break the surface though. Next time I'll give Scott's run a try!
