A friend and I spent the morning on Chambers yesterday and we had a good day,we had 15.Acouple nice ones but mostly small.I have just one question, who in this world came up with the design of the ramp and dock? With the way the wind was blowing it was impossible to get the boat on the trailer without getting knee deep in water.I'm just glad the water was 60 degrees.Don't think we will be going back anytime soon

It can be tough sometimes when the wind is blowing towards the dam. I'll often beach my boat on the opposite side of the ramp. After I back my trailer in, I'll shove the boat off, then pull it in fast as it is going by the trailer. You gotta have guide on's on the trailer. Not much they could really do to improve it without building a breakwall.

I agree 100% with Shellback; you need to have some sort of guide-ons on your trailer. That makes it 100 times easier to get your boat back on the trailer. Chambers is not the best ramp around by any means but it's really not too bad with the guide-ons. As Shellback also stated; shove the boat off; then pull the front end in quick and the guide-ons will get you back on the trailer nicely. When the boat is blowing in the wind it's not always pretty getting it back on but the guide-ons do their job perfectly.
Also; I always get my feet wet at Chambers. But that's why I wear a pair shorts, and a pair of old sneakers or a pair of Crocs. On a hot day that water feels pretty good on your legs when you walk in to trailer the boat.

Chamber ramp was poor planning IMO. Too much distance between ramp and dock.
If you plan properly, it's certainly manageable however.

I guess I have just launched from that ramp so many times that it's not that big of a deal to me and I don't notice the poor design, haha. Fishing Blue Marsh quite often I see what a very nice ramp looks like but regardless of the ramp at Chambers it's still worth trying to launch there because of it's excellent fishery.
