I know the water temps are real low but anyone take a drive down below the conowingo yet this year? Won't be too long. Really want to get one on the fly rod. Got into them good last year when it was empty. Would of been a perfect opportunity.

They are starting to move a bit in the Delaware, but with the temps so low (<40), it'll be awhile before anything significant happens. I assume the same holds true for the Susq. When the temps start pushing 50 it'll be time.

i've always wanted to experience the shad run. any good areas with wade access? Yeah lots of wade access on the susky. Crowded though. Even in the rain.

i'm totally unfamiliar with the area and not too keen with fishing shoulder to shoulder. is it worthwhile fishing from the Susky State Park?

I would be willing to bet there are already decent numbers of American shad at Conowingo dam. Water too cold for them to bite at this time though. Will probably be a week or two with all the snow melt from up north. Won't be long. Might take a ride down next weekend depending on temps.
