Friend and I took the jon boat out to Chambers Tuesday morning, got out before the sun in 55 degree weather and started frogging. Didnt get any good ones on the frog, but did catch some small ones and a huge bullfrog! Once the sun came up the cold front that hit Monday night had them biting. We caught lots of fish, only a few good keepers, but were getting bites all day. Flipped some down trees and got good numbers, cranked in 10-15 foot of water around rocky points with good success, and threw swimjigs and chatterbaits around weedlines and managed a few. At the end of the day we decided to throw trout magnets by the creek entrance to check out the baitfish population and were rewarded with numerous yellow perch, and a large golden shiner about 8 inches long, which I was very surprised to see! Overall great day, caught plenty of fish, definitly made the right decision going to Chambers instead of Marsh, which has been a very slow bite the past month or so.

Yea I probably caught 8 golden shiners this past spring crappie fishing. I think I missed many more cuz had a many hits on jig and bobber where bobber went completely underwater i tried to set the hook and felt no weight at all.
