Anybody have a depth map/structure map of Hopewell? How deep is it at its deepest point. I'd guess around 20-30, but I'm not too sure. Any information on good spots is appreciated too! Thanks!

There is no map that I'm aware of. You may find something on an old topo map from before the lake was there - My Topo used to have them on their site. Then you have to figure out where the lake is and also take silt into consideration. Not aware of much in the way of structure - there is an old drain down near the dam but it is now past the bouy so off limits(it's not deep). Maybe with a top line sonar you can find remnants of the old creek channel, but I wouldn't bet on it. There are a few shallow "points", but for the most part it is typical featureless bowl. I think the deepest I found was 26' could be a deeper spot but I don't think anything 30' or more.
Weedbeds, trees, and old tree stumps are your cover.

Anybody have a depth map/structure map of Hopewell? How deep is it at its deepest point. I'd guess around 20-30, but I'm not too sure. Any information on good spots is appreciated too! Thanks! The deepest part of Hopewell is down by the dam of course and has a maximum depth of about 20 feet at full pool. As others have said it is basically a bowl shaped lake with very little structure offshore. There's a few rock piles here and there and a few stumps but again; nothing too spectacular. But the beauty of Hopewell is all of the shallow water cover. The smaller patches of lily pads are fantastic and draw Bass all Spring, Summer and Fall. Also look for very specific weed edges along the shore. Weeds edges there are typically around 6-8 feet and really aren't that far from the shoreline along the swimming pool side of the lake. You'll find better depth changes along that shoreline; the opposite shoreline tends to have very gradual depth changes except where the channel comes close to the shoreline out by the point. As for baits; all I can say is SOFT PLASTICS. Also; do not be afraid to work those baits around the islands either. There are a few nice laydowns in there too; so make sure you hit every one of those. Yes; there are a few "spots" in there but basically the whole shoreline on the pool side is one huge "spot". That lake sure is a gem! It can get awfully crowded during the day on the weekends and holidays are horrible down there so my best recommendation is to get there right at daylight; you'll be able to cover the whole lake before 10:00-11:00 AM. Just be patient; work those soft plastics SLOW and you should come off the lake with a pretty darn good day of Bassin'. The Bass won't be huge by any means but you'll have a great time. But there are a few monsters in there; I usually catch one about every three years so you never know what might be on the other end of the line. Good luck...... PS The top middle banner pic (at the top of the forum page) is one I caught out of Hopewell two years ago!
