End of last season I started going to marsh creek and absolutely love the place. Had some really nice catches but also had a good amount of days where I completely got skunked. I realize without a fish finder it will take me some trial and error finding some hot spots but I was wondering if you guys had any tips on color selection for lures. So far it seemed like some of my darker stuff was working best but like I said I have limited experience out there.
For soft plastics I have always liked green pumpkin and a darker color like black/blue. For more finesse plastics I always try to carry a chartreuse version as well for dirty water. I do not fish a whole lot of hardbaits but I prefer a bluegill pattern most of the time or a natural baitfish pattern. This year I am going pretty heavy on an Alewife pattern on my swim jigs, flukes and crankbaits.
