The regulations online arent clear about fishing a big bass lake. As long as i catch and release am i able to fish for bass there before trout season opens next weekend?

Pretty sure you can fish for bass in a "big bass lake" up until April 16th unless its a "big bass lake" that is also stocked with trout, then there is no fishing allowed until opening day of trout. The only lakes listed on the fish and boat website that are "big bass" and stocked with trout are Upper, Middle and Lower Deer Lakes in Allegheny County.

The regulations are very clear and easy to understand. IF there are trout in the lake you would like to fish and it is not open to year round trout fishing then you cannot fish for bass until the opening day of trout season. If there are trout in the lake you plan to fish and it is open to year round trout fishing then you can fish for bass. If there are no trout stocked in the lake you plan to fish than you can fish for bass.
