Gonna run out this week with the 70 degree weather. What's the launching situation look like?

the docks are all out, but you can still launch... take a long rope to tie off. The water is a mess though... last weeks rain has really muddied up the lake, especially uplake. I was out yesterday and only had a few bites, no keepers. Try the Spring Creek arm, it might not be as muddy as the Tully arm.

Nice job Basser425; at least someone knows how to catch bass on that lake, haha! I normally catch a decent smallie each time out but that's about it. My biggest green fish out of there is about 8", haha! Once I get my actual bass Boat in a few years then I will spend more time on that lake and try to learn some of its secrets. Until then; the jon boat will remain hitting the smaller lakes in the area.

Frogman anytime you want a rider in the dinky jon boat on those small ponds let me know... hk3bassking is the water is still murky just keep to the main lake below the no-wake area.

Thanks guys. I now live real close to Blue Marsh and keep saying I gotta get over there and start to learn it, but I used to hate that lake when I was a kid so I guess I keep putting it off.

I hate that lake too, haha! My problem is that I only fish it a handful of times each year so I have no clue what I am doing there. Typically I hit shoreline cover but that usually doesn't pay off VERY WELL! Most other folks are doing the same thing and by the time I get to a tree or wood cover it's probably been cast to a hundred times that day already. I think I know what I might need to do there to be successful but without having a gas motor or a larger boat I am not about to get out on that lake. Quite honestly; I would love to get out on that lake in late summer armed only with a drop shot and start hitting a little bit deeper water. I love fishing for smallies and I think if I had time on that lake I could score well; just like basser425; did you see the pics of the smallies he had been posting this year from that lake? Oh well; hopefully in the next few years I'll finally be able to trade in the jon Boat for my bass boat; then I'll start hitting that lake all of the time.

Frogman... go up to the Fish Comm launch up on RT 183... that is way up in the no wake area and really a haul for anyone putting in at the 2 main launches...AND that area is not beat up as much because most people like to run the big motors. I know of at least 3 times this year that tourneys were won by guys who went up that far.... and even with a trolling motor you can find fish.

I hear ya' Basser425.......I have been told by several people I should take my 14' jon boat out there, but I have seen multiple times; especially this time of year where folks don't exactly adhere to the no-wake area. One good wave from a Bass boat crashes into my little boat and its not going to be a good day of fishing. I am seriously thinking of putting my boat up for sale and looking for maybe a Tracker Pro 160 or something in the Spring. That boat with a 20 or 40 HP would be perfect for Blue Marsh; not too big that I cant handle it (loading and unloading) but big enough to handle some choppy water and a few wakes.

I got rid if my 02' Tracker for a new one this year. I highly recommend it. A 175 still comes with a 40 or 60HP. I have the 60 and I can still easily get on and off all the small lakes.

@ hkbassking; Just out of curiosity; how much did you sell your '02' for? The brand new Pro 160's are about $11K with a 20 HP but I am thinking I could find a used one for a pretty decent price?
